Lonzo
Davidson
January 31, 1950 – March 3, 2026
Evert Lonzo Davidson, of Alpena, Arkansas, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at home. He was 76 years old.
The son of Evert Devoe Davidson and Edra Loe (Martin) Davidson was born in Compton, Arkansas on January 31, 1950. He was a lifelong resident of Carroll County and a member of Osage Assembly of God.
Lonzo was a devout Christian and loved reading his Bible daily. He took advantage of every opportunity to tell someone about the Lord.
From the time he was old enough to work, Lonzo worked as a logger. He owned and operated Davidson Lumber and was in the timber industry for over 30 years. After he sold the sawmill, he worked pipeline for several years, and most recently had worked 10 years at Tyson before retiring in March 2025. He was a hard worker and when he wasn’t working at his day job, he was busy working at home. He could usually be found cutting wood or hauling hay.
When he wasn’t busy working, he enjoyed gardening and going hunting. He was a joy to be around, always happy, smiling, singing, or teasing. He loved telling stories about cutting trees and logging. He was generous and giving, always wanting to help those in need.
Lonzo’s greatest joy after the Lord was his family. He cherished his family and loved spending time with them. He was a devoted and caring husband, father, and papaw. He was proud of his family and always took care of them. He left a legacy of faith, love, devotion, and hard work that will be shared for generations. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leo and Larry Davidson; his sister, Betty McAlister; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Davidson.
Lonzo is survived by his wife and love of his life for 54 years, Rosa Davidson; his children, Shelly (Tony) Fultz, Amanda (Robbie) Schanke, Lutrisha (Lee) Bryant and Stacey (Stephanie) Davidson; a brother, Lester Davidson; 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, with 2 more expected in May; a sister-in-law, Charlene Davidson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Holt and Rev. Trent Villines officiating. Burial will follow in Plumlee Cemetery.
