Obituary
Zelmer Lee Smith, age 74 of Vendor, AR passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at Jasper, AR.
The son of Dave V. and Addie (Martin) Smith, was born January 31, 1933 at Vendor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifelong resident of Newton County. He was also a farmer and worked in the timber industry.
His parents preceded him in death along with his wife, Evelyn Smith; his brothers; a son-in-law, Larry Campbell; and a great granddaughter, Kylee Campbell.
Survivors are his four children, Ronda Campbell of Hasty, Ricky Smith and wife, Susie of Vendor, Regina Day and husband, Dwight of Jasper, and Elizabeth White of Harrison; brothers, Lunie Smith and Luell Smith, both of Lurton, and Robert Smith of Mt. Judea; sister, Imogene Madewell of Kansas City, MO; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation was open with the service Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper. Charles Christian officiated. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery at Vendor. His nephews were pallbearers.
