Zelda Rae McMurtry, age 79, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at The Springs of Mt. Vista on Monday, February 17, 2025.

The daughter of Homer and Florence Edith (Taylor) McMurtry was born in Harrison on May 15, 1945.

She was a lifelong resident of Harrison. Zelda was a devout Jehovah's Witness and member of the Kingdom Hall. She was very strong in her faith and beliefs.

Zelda had an amazing memory. When given a date, she could quickly tell you specific details about that day, from the weather to an event that may have happened. She loved children and was a loyal friend. She would do anything you asked her.

She enjoyed shopping and loved to read, especially western novels.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Hue Leonard McMurtry, and her nephew, Leonard McMurtry.

Zelda is survived by her extended relatives and many dear friends and caregivers.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1 (2025) at 10 AM at Maplewood Cemetery.
