Yvonne "Von" Davis, age 90, of Jasper went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.
The daughter of the late Otis M. Davis, Sr. and Lottie (Boomer) Davis was born March 11, 1924 in Jasper, Arkansas. She graduated with the class of 1942 from Jasper High School and attended Southwestern Bible School. She was a life long member of the Jasper First Assembly of God Church.
Yvonne spent many years ministering, holding revivals and building churches with her dear friend, Margaret Vann. Due to her mother's illness, she moved back to Jasper to care for her and began working for the Arkansas Department of Human Services, which she retired from after many years of serving her community. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord and never missed an opportunity to share God's love. She also thoroughly enjoyed working in her garden and taking care of her two cats for as long as she was able.
She was preceded in death by her father, Otis M. Davis, Sr. and her mother, Lottie Boomer Davis; her sister, Helen Davis Spencer and brother-in-law, Gene Spencer; her sister, Lela Davis Reynolds; her best friend, Margaret Vann and her niece, Kathy Spencer Franklin.
She is survived by her brother, Otis "Buddy" Davis, Jr. and sister-in-law, Maria Davis; her brother-in-law, Thomas Reynolds; four nephews, David Spencer and wife Ruby Jean, Kevin Reynolds and wife, Jane, Tony Davis and wife, Marie and Kenny Davis and wife, Reesha; a niece, Maria Clark and husband, Adam; six great-nephews; eight great-nieces; many great-great-nieces and nephews; a host of other friends and family throughout the community and her wonderful church family whom she loved so dearly.
Memorial service was Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Jasper First Assembly of God Church with private burial in Jasper Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements were handled by Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison and Jasper.
