Obituary
Wilmer Wayne Griffin, age 78 of Harrison, passed away June 1, 2011 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The son of Leroy and Mary Stella (Salladay) Griffin was born April 24, 1933 in Doniphan, Nebraska.
Griff served in the United States Air Force for 33 years. He was active duty for 10 years and active reserves for 23 years. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He worked in the civil service for 20 plus years.
He attended Crossroads Community Church and enjoyed archery and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Bill and Harvey Griffin; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Griffin of Harrison; his sons, Mike Griffin and wife Mary of Ontario, CA, and Brad Griffin and wife Dawn of Downy, CA; two step-sons, Bill Nichols and wife Jan of Harrison and Leon Lane of Harrison; daughters, Stacy Kronholm and husband Ross of Woodbury, MN, and Guyda Newberg and husband Scott of Kalama, WA; brother, Clyde Griffin of Downy, CA; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Monday, June 6, 2011 at Crossroads Community Church with Johnny Walters officiating. Burial followed in Osborne Cemetery in St. Joe.
Visitation was Sunday June 5, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Pallbearers were Dan Richardson, Leon Lane, Ross Kronholm, Brad Griffin, Mike Griffin, and Shannon Snow.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. C.D. Williams and Dr. Wong.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arkansas Heart Hospital, 1701 S. Shackelford, Little Rock, AR. 72211.
