William Robert "Bill" Liggett, Sr., 83 of Marble Falls, Arkansas passed away at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center on Friday, December 6, 2019.

Bill was born in El Dorado, Kansas on November 27, 1936 to parents, Thomas Judson Liggett and Mary Ellen (Towne) McCormick. He had been a resident of Newton County most of his life and was a Christian, attending many churches over the years.

At age 5, Bill was enrolled in the Ponca City Military Academy, he continued his education there until graduating as an officer. After the military academy, he enlisted in the US Army.  He was a disabled veteran, but continued to serve his country at his barber shop, giving haircuts to the area servicemen.  He also spent 18 years doing taxidermy, a job he loved and enjoyed. He was an avid outdoors-man, enjoying hunting, fishing and tournament bass fishing. He also liked to collect coins, stamps and rocks. He was fascinated with knowledge and loved to study things and share that knowledge with his family, especially his grandkids.

Bill was full of life, kindness and very compassionate. He loved his family and always put them above everything. He was always firmly in their corner. He loved them all equally and unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Thomas "Tommy" Liggett, James "Jim" Liggett and Richard "Dick" Liggett.

Bill is survived by his sons, William Robert Liggett, Jr. and wife Susan of Mulberry, AR, Franklin Scott Liggett III of Prairie Grove, AR, and Timothy Dale Liggett of Marble Falls, AR; his daughter, Melissa Ruth Liggett Smith and husband, Terry of Marble Falls, AR; his brother, David "Dave" Liggett and wife Betty of Newton Co, AR; a step-brother, Tony Collins of Marble Falls, AR; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends who loved him and will miss him.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Jerry Liggett officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery at Nail.

Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Billy Liggett, Matthew Liggett, Paul Michael Watters, Eric Smith, Mark Smith and Bo Plunkett.

Honorary pallbearers are Paul "Boots" Gilmore, Stanley Gilmore, Nick Martin, Sean Liggett, Tony Kaler, Joseph Arrowood and Brian Rodgers.
