William Howard
Hastings
October 5, 1938 – April 29, 2026
William (Bill) Howard Hastings of Everton, Arkansas has passed away on April 29, 2026 at 87 years old. Bill was born on October 5, 1938 to Howard and Sara Hastings in Salisbury, Maryland. He led a full life with his wife of 69 years, Joan (Lancaster) Hastings, by his side.
Bill began his life as a resident of Ocean City, Maryland where he enjoyed duck hunting and fishing in the local bays and marshlands before moving to Northwest Arkansas in 1996. His life was highlighted by such things as his service in the U.S. Air Force, his career as an architectural engineer, and the other various occupations he pursued after retirement. He was also an avid history enthusiast who enjoyed genealogy and collected anything related to military history.
Bill is survived by his wife Joan, their two children, Terri (Hastings) Sparks and Michael Hastings, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The following verses were selected by great-grandson, Weston Sparks:
-
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
-
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain”
