Obituary

William "Bill" Eugene Ayers was born January 10, 1943. He was married 19 good years and a total of 35 years to Johnnie. In his first marriage, he had two sons, Todd and wife Shelly; and Allen, his grandchildren, Tristan and Carter and his step grandchildren, Alex and Lexi, all of Harrison.

Bill and Johnnie moved from Odessa, Texas to Harrison in 2014. They were members of the Permian Basin Hot Wheels, and owned a 1966 laser red metallic Mustang, and won many trophies in car shows.

They were also members of the Celtic Heritage Society of the Permian Basin, as Bill was of Scottish blood. They were also on the Fair Committee.

Bill enjoyed ocean cruising, having been on 8 cruises. On the ships, you could eat anything, anytime and he did!

He loved to watch old westerns and wrote down all that he had seen, which was over 300.

Bill really enjoyed mowing his yard on the riding mower. When the doctor told him he couldn't mow anymore, he gave the doctor a dirty look!

Bill and Johnnie would go to the Boone County Senior Center on Wednesdays, and again on Fridays for Silver Sneakers Class where he and June were at each other a lot!

Bill and Johnnie made some special friends in a very short time in Harrison. He enjoyed trips to Branson with the center for shows, Ginger and her home made bread, Calvin and Mary helped keep the used mower running. Everyone at the center was loving and caring.

Bill is in a better place and no longer in pain.

Celebration of Bill's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Boone County Senior Center, 1516 Rock Springs Road in Harrison, with Chaplin Doug Kisinger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Boone County Senior Center.
