Obituary

William Roy Eddings, age 80, of St. Joe, Arkansas, passed away at Highland Court Nursing Home in Marshall on Thursday, December 3, 2020.  He was born September 2, 1940 at St. Joe, the son of Bill and Lorene Eddings.

Roy deeply loved his wife and his huge family.  He loved spending as much time as possible with them.  Any time you went to see him, he would say, "Lets sit outside under the shade tree and visit".  Oh, the stories he could tell.  Of course, some you could believe and some not so much.  He loved to let you go on and wonder if he was pulling your leg.  Roy also loved to hunt and fish.

He spent over 65 years working as a heavy equipment operator.  He worked for O.W. Beauchamp, Glenn Nelle, Bob Cash, R.G. Hudspeth and McClinton Anchor.  He loved his work and talking about the equipment, and he could identify and tell you about every piece of machinery.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Eddings in 2018; his daughter, Pamela Hathaway; a sister, Loretta Sisco and husband Clifford; two brothers, Billy Dale Eddings and Coy Eddings and wife Penny and a brother-in-law, Ron Lowery.

Roy is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Katrina and Thomas Scott of St. Joe and Susan and James Kramer of Greenbrier; six grandchildren, William Hendrix and wife Tina, Zandy Hathaway, Amber Tinsley and husband Austin, Whitney Govia and husband Tyler, Rusty Scott and Samantha Kramer; seven great grandchildren, Melony, Roran, Anson, Jaxin, Ember, Jaylee and Zoey; four sisters, Coeta Hensley and husband Steve, Elvida Lowery, Leveta Synder and husband Buddy and Almetta Harris and husband Johnny; a sister-in-law, Judy Eddings and a host of extended family and friends.

Roy will certainly be missed by many, and throughout this time of loss, we have to remember what an angel heaven has gained.

Funeral service will be at 2 PM, Monday, December 7, 2020 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Bro. Leo Dye officiating.  Burial will follow at Western Grove Cemetery.
