William Ben Begley, age 83 of Harrison, AR passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Marion County Nursing Home in Yellville.

The son of John William and Mary (Curry) Begley was born May 25, 1923 in Pea Ridge, AR. His parents preceded him in death along with his sister, Rose Begley and step-daughter, Sharon Laxson.

Ben was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army and assisted in the founding of Rusty Wheels. He had worked for Ozark Metal Products.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn (Henry) Begley of the home; children, Benny Begley and his wife, Nancy of Bruno, AR, Linda Sue and her husband, Bill McCutcheon of Gentry, Mike Begley and his wife, Kim of Advance, MO, and Glenda Begley of Bellefonte; adopted daughter, Ashley and her husband, Brian Jones of Harrison; step-children, Kenneth Laxson and his wife, Carolyn of Harrison and Ruth Ann and her husband, Billy King also of Harrison; brother, Garland Begley and his wife, Maxine of Anderson Flat; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, and one on the way; and the mother of his children, Amberlean Begley.

Visitation was held Thursday, October 19 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Graveside and interment service was held Friday, October 20 at Anderson Flat Cemetery near Pindall. Pallbearers were Tim McCutcheon, Lee McCutcheon, Jamie Begley, A.J. Begley, Ronnie Horn, Steven Hall, and Brian Hall. Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Laxson, Trever Laxson, Jackson Ezell, Brandon Nichols, William Watts, Troy Watts, and the Marion County Nursing Home staff of the "green" wing.
