Obituary

Will Herron of Harrison, AR passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Hillcrest Home, at the age of 88.

The son of Everett and Grace (McDougal) Herron, was born March 7, 1918 in Pindall, AR. His parents preceded in death, along with his wife, Lorraine (Hensley) Herron; sons, Wilmeth Glenn and William Edward "Bill" Herron; and a sister, Marie (Herron) Drewery.

Will married Lorraine Hensley, September 8, 1937 and had been married 57 years when Lorraine passed away in 1994. He entered the Army in 1942. After doing basic training in El Paso, TX, he was shipped out to the Philipine Islands. In 1946 he was discharged as a Tech Sergeant and then returned home to Arkansas.

Will had lived many different places while drilling oil wells for Phillips Petroleum, until he settled in Grants, N.M. in 1958 to work for Phillips Uranium Mill. The family lived there until 1980, at which time he retired and moved back to Harrison. Will was a Protestant and a member of the Boone No. 314, Masonic Lodge for many years.

Survivors are his daughter-in-law, Elaine Herron of Harrison; granddaughters, Shelby Raye and husband, Cole Hall and Sharla Kaye and husband, Mike Gregory all of Harrison; a grandson, Waylon Scott and wife, Sharla Joy Herron of Ozark, MO; great grandchildren, Nicole Anderson, Tyson Hall and wife, Amanda, Cody Gregory, Justin Johnson and wife, Rosanna, all of Harrison, and Shayla Marie Herron of Ozark, MO; great great grandchildren, Harlie Elaine Anderson, Alissa Clair Powell and Felicity Kaye Johnson, all of Harrison; brothers, Ernest Herron and Melburne "Chunk" Herron, both of Harrison, Jack Herron of Wichita, KS, Joe Herron of Denton, TX, and Troy Herron of Hot Springs; and three sisters, Lennie Keele, Patsy Housley, and Florence Strickland, all of Harrison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Visitation was Wednesday, Feburary 14 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service was 10 A.M. Thursday, February 15, at the funeral home chapel. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery with Cole Hall, Mike Gregory, Waylon Herron, Tyson Hall, Justin Johnson, and Cody Gregory serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Hillcrest Home.

Will was always known for his humor and wit, and will be missed by all.
