Wilburn Tony Coonts, age 93 of Piercetown, Arkansas passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at Harrison.

The son of Walter and Myrtle (Cheatham) Coonts was born on July 12, 1921 at Mt. Judea, Arkansas. He was Constable of White Township for several years; an avid deer and turkey hunter; loved to fish and loved his family; had worked for the Newton County Road Department for several years and worked in the timber and sawmill.

Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Allie Coonts; four brothers Ralph Coonts, Ted Coonts, Custer Coonts and Junior Coonts; one granddaughter Coileen Coonts and one great-granddaughter Laken Holt.

Survivors are six sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth and Peggy of Mt. Judea, Roy and Mary Ann of Mt. Judea, Glenn and Sheri of Jacksonville, Dale and Iva of Vendor, Lexie and June of Jasper and Arles and Donnita of Mt. Judea; two daughters and sons-in-law Lola and Earl Freeman of Mt. Judea and Charlotte and Rick Gibson of Harrison; twenty-six grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mt. Judea Church with Bro. Jerry Marshall and Bro. Wesley Ricketts officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Judea Cemetery. Visitation was 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Pallbearers were his sons Kenneth, Roy, Glenn, Dale, Lexie and Arles. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
