Obituary

Wesley Franklin Martin, age 38 of Vendor, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 2, 2008 at Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born September 21, 1970 at Harrison, Arkansas and was a life long resident of Newton County. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Wesley graduated from Mt. Judea High School in 1988, and was married in 1990. One son was born to this union.

He was a school board member of the Deer/Mt. Judea School District for five years, was a pee-wee basketball coach for Mt. Judea, a volunteer in the community and he loved to hunt, fish, and work with wood as a craftsman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Martin in 2003; his paternal grandfather, Garland Martin; and maternal grandparents, Goldie and Dallas Middleton.

Survivors are his mother, Pamela Williams of Jasper; one son, Weston Martin of Vendor; two sisters, Melissa Martin of Harrison and Stacey Martin of Jasper; paternal grandmother, Nima Martin of Newton County Nursing Home; five nephews, Jamen Martin, Tyler Martin, Jesse Harris, Jaton Harris, and Laiton Jones; one niece, Kaitlynn Nichols; and many friends and relatives.

Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Services will be 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Mt. Judea School Gymnasium. Pallbearers are Warren Campbell, Jeff Adams, Jason Campbell, Truman Collins, Shawn Ricketts, and Larry Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley's Senior Boy's Basketball Team, Weston Martin, Gary Short, Alex Freeman, Tyler Martin, Dustin Criner, Justin Criner, Cody Campbell, Braydon Middleton, his five nephews, and a niece.
Burial is in Smith Cemetery at Vendor, Arkansas.
