Obituary

Warren Bradley Self, age 82 of Mt. Sherman, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, 6 August 2015 at his home.

He was born on 1 February 1933 in a cabin below the Doc Hudson Point above Jasper, Arkansas, the son of Theodore Roosevelt and Mary Elizabeth (Poyner) Self.

Warren was a farmer, gardener, sawyer, and carpenter who loved fishing, hunting, working on his farm and providing for his family and neighbors. He and Clara Ruth Villines married on 1 March 1952. They lived seven years in Lebanon, Oregon and then moved back to Mt. Sherman, Newton County, Arkansas in 1959, where they lived the rest of their lives. Warren was a member of the Mt. Sherman Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Clara Ruth Self; parents Roosevelt and Mary Self; brothers Ray, Idis, Kent and Gene Self; sisters Nada Ott and Lorna Raney; and twin granddaughters Jessie and Nora Self.

Survivors are son Daniel Self and wife Donna of Sugar Land, Texas; son Rickie Self and wife Nib of Jasper, Arkansas; daughter Anita Spears and husband Tom of Mt. Sherman, Arkansas; and daughter Colleen Self and partner Mary Fleenor of Republic, Missouri; six grandchildren Nathan Rine, Emily Willis, Stacey Mitchell, Jennifer Longstreth, Jonathan Self and Kathryn Self; five great-grandchildren Sawyer Willis, Jase Willis, Owen Longstreth, Radley Mitchell and Ellie Longstreth; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, 10 August 2015 at the Mt. Sherman Assembly of God Church with Pastor Raymond White and Pastor Kenny Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Sherman Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, 9 August 2015 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Self, Nathan Rine, Kenny Poyner, Stanton Willis, Steve Cobb and Scott Grant. Honorary pallbearers are Warren's nephews, nieces, grandchildren and church family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison, Arkansas.
