Ward Edgmon, Age 88 of Low Gap, AR, passed away in his home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
The son of Jesse and Martha Ann Edgmon was born on December 29, 1937, in Mossville, AR.
On August 1, 1959, Ward married Phyllis House. For over 66 year,s they worked together, went to church together, fished together, and hosted family and friends together in their home. Always together in everything that they did.
Ward was saved Saturday night, November 4, 1961, in the same meeting as Shirley Edgmon. He joined the Mossville United Baptist Church on December 2, 1961, and has been a member for 64 years. They were both baptized on July 1, 1962.
Ward and his brother Eddie Joe, were both ordained on January 4, 1975, Ward as a Deacon and Eddie Joe as a Preacher.
Ward was known for his natural musical talent. He had a voice and a spirit that uplifted everyone around him. He led the songs during many many church services with a voice so full of humble spirit that it moved the lost who heard it. When he led prayer, most would stop and just listen. He also attended many funerals where he would sing comfort and hope to the hurting.
Through his witness many were drawn to seek out and find the Lord. Above all Ward Loved the Lord. He also loved his wife, kids and family.
With the many blessings he received in this life he said, "I am Well Pleased." He wanted all to know that he loved everybody.
Ward is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Edgmon and Martha Ann (Watson) Edgmon, a child, Roger Dale Edgmon; and his siblings, Velma, Cleo, Eileen, Berta, Glenna, J.E., Louise, Wade, Bonnie, Eddie Joe, Ruby, and Lawton.
Ward is survived by his wife Phyllis Edgmon of Low Gap, his sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Karen Edgmon, and Robert and Mary Sue Edgmon; his daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Marvin Smith and Renee and Mark Breedlove; 12 grandchildren, Jesse Edgmon, Sarah Dodson, Jordan Edgmon, Alanna Collins, Alisha Martin, Lauren Cannon, Matthew Smith, Tyler Smith, Kayla Sargent, Marcus Breedlove, Bryce Breedlove, and Breanna Breedlove; and 20 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Mossville United Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Young and Pastor Marvin Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mossville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday before the service.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Smith, Matthew Smith, Marcus Breedlove, Bryce Breedlove, Jordan Edgmon, and Jesse Edgmon.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Woods, Kevin Robertson, Clint Martin, Cameron Cannon, Jacob Collins, Tanner Sargent, Josh Dodson and Mark Breedlove.
