Obituary
Ward Brasel, age 92 of Jasper, AR passed away at Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.
He was born October 8, 1909 at Jasper to Baxter and Dora (Carlton) Brasel. He was a farmer and worked on Hudson Acres Farm at Jasper from his teenage years until his retirement. He attended the Mt. Sherman Assembly of God Church.
Ward was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 72 years, Dovie (Kilgore) Brasel; sons, Jack, Billy Reed, Donnie and Joe Brasel; a granddaughter, Stephanie Leigh Fowler; brothers, Doy, Ted, Ray, Ben, Wayne, and Sam Brasel; and sisters, Fay Letterman and Maude Town.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Brasel of Jasper; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Billy Wallace of Marble Falls; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and a sister, Inez Shaddox of Harrison.
Funeral service for Ward Brasel was held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 22 at Coffman Chapel in Jasper with Rev. Raymond White officiating. Burial was in Mt. Sherman Cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation was open Tuesday, March 21 at the funeral home.
