Wanda Mae "Bug" Long, age 89, of Lead Hill, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at The Springs of Mt. Vista in Harrison.
Wanda was born in Lead Hill, Arkansas, July 28, 1937, to Wilburn "Razze" Akins and Elsie (Austin) Akins.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Diamond City. Wanda loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She never met a stranger, and she loved listening to gospel hymns.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, WM Akins, Jack Akins, Bob Akins, and Danny Akins; sister, Lou Townsley; daughter, Sharon Strahan; and grandson, Joey Len McNish.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 29 years, George Long; brother, Joe Akins; daughter, Marilyn Bell and husband Jim; stepdaughter, Brenda Long; grandchildren, Misty (Josh) Epps and Paul (Shana) McNish; great grandkids, Erin (Slater) Christian and James (Riley) Wolfe; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM both on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Diamond City. Pastor Mark Blount and Pastor Curly Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Milum Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.
Pallbearers are Willie Dean, Ronnie Reed, Wayne Blount, Wade Warren, David Lewis, and Greg Kirkpatrick.
