Vonnie Mathis, age 88 of Harrison, AR passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.

The daughter of Alfred Jefferson and Flaurra (Gaylor) Paul, was born April 8, 1918 in Gaither, AR.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with a son, Bervin Ray Mathis; and a sister, Velma Rae Paul. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Harrison. She enjoyed being a homemaker and working with her flowers. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family.

Survivors are her husband, James Ray Mathis; a son, Paul Lynn Mathis and his wife, Linda of Harrison; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Mathis of Harrison; a sister, Shirley Ann Fenn and her husband, Merrill of Springfield, MO; a brother, Joey Paul and his wife, Marvis of Harrison; grandchildren, Sonya Edwards and her husband, Kris, Lonnie Mathis and his wife, Heather, and James Paul "Jay" Mathis and his wife, Becky, all of Harrison, and Jennifer White and her husband, Blaine of Branson, MO. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Shelby and Gatlin Edwards, Vail and Levi Mathis, Michael Slay, and Sophia Mathis.

Visitation is 5-7 P.M. Thursday, February 1, at Coffman Funeral Home. Service 2 P.M. Friday, at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Glenn Crenshaw officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Mathis, Blaine White, Kris Edwards, Lonnie Mathis, Ken Watkins, Paul Roten, and Lyle Watkins.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Tom Leslie, Dr. David Stills and Nurses of Eagle Heights Clinic; Johnnie Kerner with the Elders Choice Program and Jeanette Sharp.
