Vinita (Hancock) Martin, of Falcon, Missouri, formerly of Hasty, Arkansas, passed away at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the age of 89.

The daughter of Thomas Carroll and Lewell (Tennison) Hancock was born in Hasty, Arkansas on April 1, 1934. She married James Kenneth Martin on June 3, 1950 and they lived in Newton County, Arkansas until 1982 when they moved to Bergman.  They remained in Bergman until retirement in 1995 when they relocated to Couch, Missouri to be near their son and grandsons.

Vinita was a natural born supervisor, both at home and during her years working at Millbrook. She was proud to work on the family farm and enjoyed gardening and canning. She also enjoyed quilting when she was younger. Vinita loved her family, especially her grandsons and great-great grandchildren; they were the highlight of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Kenneth Martin in 2014; and an infant son, Arlin Carroll Martin.

Vinita is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Kimberly Martin of Falcon, MO; grandson, Blake (Michelle)Martin of Couch, MO and Derrick Martin of Newell, WV; grandchildren, Kylee Brooke, Wyatt Matthew, Sydnee Grace, and Tanner Cole; her brother, Neil (Marilyn) Hancock of Hasty, AR; and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Nadine O'Leary of Grandbury, TX; and special friends Jewel Garrison, Jodie Farmer, and Jack Chisum.

The visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral beginning at 1 PM, and the service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Bro. Kenny King officiating.

Burial will follow at Holmes Cemetery in Bellefonte with Pastor Derwin Martin officiating.

Pallbearers are Blake Martin, Derrick Martin, Wyatt Martin, Tanner Martin, Jack Chisum, Tom Wiggs, and Keith Price.
