Veronica Lynn Colbert Merbs, age 59 of Jasper, AR, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
She was born November 21, 1959 to Jack and Mae Jean Colbert of Akron, Ohio.
Veronica was a strong and well-respected woman to her family and friends. She was an award-winning cosmetologist and makeup artist for local TV and movies. She was a certified nursing assistant and did the accounting for the United States Coast Guard and the Catholic Diocese. She also worked 10 years at the Woodland Golf Course and County Club.
As a teenager she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she was a lifelong member.
Veronica enjoyed quilting, yard selling, shopping and doing crafts. Her greatest love was her husband, her family, and the Lord.
She is survived by her husband, David Merbs of Jasper; her sisters and their spouses, Fawn and Bob Sallee of Mt. Ulla, North Carolina, Marilee Rose of San Augustine, Texas and Eva and Jehad "Joe" AlShamasneh of San Augustine, Texas; her son, Marcus and his wife Tirina of Cleveland, Texas; her 6 grandchildren, Kyler, Conner, Carter, Cooper, Izabell and Emma.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Harrison with Bishop Barry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Parthenon, AR.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM Thursday prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Reed Petty, Mel Hardy, Rodney Flippo, Terry Myer, Norman Jenkins and Frank Dell.
Honorary pallbearers are the Colbert children, Raymond Colbert Covey, Marshall Colbert, Marcus Colbert, DeAnna Swanson, Sara Davis, and Rebecca Rose Marshall.
