Vernus Breedlove, age 90 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Harrison.
She was born April 27, 1918 at Parthenon, Arkansas, the daughter of James Oscar and Iva (Casey) Plumlee. She was a lifelong resident of Newton County and was a member of Lone Beech United Baptist Church. She was also a homemaker.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, Hulet Breedlove; a daughter, Doris Watson; an infant daughter; two step-daughters, Eddine Hudson and Kathleen Cummins; three grandchildren; two sisters, Laverne White and Bertie Henderson; and one brother, Verlus Plumlee.
Survivors are her two sons, Donald Breedlove of Parthenon and Joe Hudson of Bedford, Texas; two step-sons, Harlan Breedlove of Valley Springs and R. B. Breedlove of Jasper; four daughters, Betty Carney and Linda Blankenship, both of Deer, Rosemary Taylor of Centerton, Arkansas and Shirley Smith of Parthenon; two brothers, Troy Plumlee of Nail and Ray Plumlee of Harrison; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren; and sixteen great great grandchildren;
Visitation was Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Services were Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the funeral home with Bobby Young and Garland Brasel officiating.
Burial followed in Union Hill Cemetery at Parthenon. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
