Vernon Eugene
Fowler
Mar 30, 1949 — Sep 17, 2026
Jasper, Arkansas
Vernon Eugene Fowler, of Jasper, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 17, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was 77 years old.
The son of Chester and Belle (Begley) Fowler was born on March 30, 1949 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Vernon married the love of his life, Judy Hughes, on March 19, 1970. Together they were blessed with six children, creating a loving family that grew through the years.
He proudly served his country from 1968 to 1970 in the US Army. He was stationed at Fort Myer, Virginia. After his military service he graduated from NHLA in Memphis, completing his training as a lumber inspector. He enjoyed working and made many lifelong friends throughout his years in the lumber and trucking business.
Vernon had a servant's heart in every way—for his family, his country, and most importantly as a worker for the Lord. Even through his ten year battle with cancer, he always looked for opportunities to encourage others—including the doctors, nurses, and patients he encountered during his cancer journey. He shared many times that the Lord had told him, “It’s not about you, it’s about others”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Bonnie Brasel; a sister-in-law, Jimmie Sue Brasel; brother-in-law, Roy Keeton; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Turnie and Edna Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Fowler; four daughters, Tammy (Stacey) Clark, Tish (Mickey) Shields, Treba Fowler, Sharon (John) Jones; two sons, Grant Fowler and Clint Fowler; 12 grandchildren, Carly Shields, Sawyer Shields, MaKaela Mulford, Peyton Clark, Canzada Fowler, Ryan Jones, Mickey Belle Manley, Wyatt Villines, Jackson Clark, Turner Fowler, Cole Villines, Neila Clement; as well as 13 great grandchildren, with two on the way.
He is also survived by his sisters, Oleta (Wayne) Hughes and Betty (Gerald) James; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy Wayne Brasel, Jerry and Janie James, Ima Keeton, and Richard Brasel, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
