Obituary
Vernon W. Barber, age 73 of Harrison, AR passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR.
The son of Ben and Emma (Messerschmidt) Barber, he was born May 24, 1935 in Swansville, MN.
He served in the National Guard and was the owner and operator of a Towing Company and Salvage Yard
in Minnesota.
Vernon and his wife, Carol (Gosewisch) Barber were married December 28, 1977 and moved to Arkansas in 2004.
His parents preceded him in death, along with a sister,
Roberta Jackson.
Survivors are his wife, Carol of the home; sons, Vern Barber, Jr. and wife, Wonona of Green Forest, AR and James Barber of Moose Lake, MN; daughters, Diane of Wisconsin, Robin Milkisa and husband, Aaron of Menahja, MN, and Cindy Reevers and husband, Peter of Burnsville, MN; step-sons, Russ Burmeister and wife, Diane of New Prague, MN and Jeff Burmeister of Harrison; step-daughter, Penny McKittrick of Davidson, MI; brother, Rodney Barber of New Prague, MN; sisters, Fay Bennett and Joyce Castle both of Duluth, MN; seventeen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Cremation and arrangements have been handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
There is no service planned at this time.
