Obituary

Verna Jean Rogers, of Bergman, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the age of 78.

The daughter of James H. "Jim" and Claris (Sneeringer) Phifer was born in Boone County on November 6, 1942.  She lived in Bergman her whole life and was a lifelong member of Life Abundant Church.

Verna Jean was a homemaker and devoted wife to her husband, F.T. of 41 years until his passing on September 30, 2000.  She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister.  Verna Jean loved God, reading her Bible and her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, F.T. Rogers, her only brother, James Phifer and her daughter-in-law, Margie Rogers.

Verna Jean is survived by her children, Larry Rogers, Mark Rogers and Norma Tanksley; her grandson, Shawn Tanksley; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Anne Phifer, Lonnie and Sharon Rogers, Imogene and Jim Clarkson, Teresa and Alvie Lane and Darlene and Johnny Smith; a host of nieces, nephews; her former pastor and special friends, Rev. Jerry and Rosie Bryant and current pastor and special friends, Rev. Billy and Tommie Edgar and her church family.

Graveside service will be at 2 PM, Monday, October 11, 2021 at Milum Cemetery in Lead Hill with Rev. Billy Edgar officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Open Visitation will be at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison on Friday, October 8 from 9 AM – 7 PM.
