Obituary
Vera C. Nolen, age 83 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 5, 2009 at Hilltop Nursing Center in Harrison.
The daughter of Harmon E. and Myrtle R. (Mings) Fortune, she was born July 18, 1926 in Canton, Texas.
She loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed collecting Amber Glassware and Porcelain Dolls. She also enjoyed gardening.
Her parents preceded her in death along with her daughter, Judy Keys; and two sisters, Ophelia Holden and Priscilla Grimm.
Survivors are her children, Harold Nolen and wife, Sue, Jack Nolen and wife, Beverly, Patsy Dean and husband, Ron, and Lesia Knight, all of Harrison; a sister, Gail Hawes of Lufkin, Texas; a brother, Frank Fortune of Wilmer, Texas; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with a memorial graveside service Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Arnold Cemetery. Scott Davis will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Fortune and Tim Fiveash.
Memorials may be made in Vera's memory to Legacy Hospice, 215 N. Chestnut, Harrison, AR 72601.
