Obituary

Velma Jean Duffell, age 72 of Lead Hill, Arkansas passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at St. John's Health Center in Springfield, Missouri.

The daughter of Walter and Bertha (Flesher)Trumphour, she was born February 1, 1937 in Barberton, Ohio.

She loved her children and spending time with her family. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and eat. She was famous for her brownies. She enjoyed the outdoors, where she would cook and camp. She loved the Lord and enjoyed good gospel music. One of her favorite past-times was to watch TV Land and game shows on TV.

She was a member of Peel Full Gospel Church.

Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, Bobby Gene Duffell and two sons, David Carson Duffell and Robert Wayne Duffell.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Charlie Rushing of Lead Hill and Velora and Richard Carpenter of Harrison; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Lowell First of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Christopher and Anthony Duffell, Melody, Delia, Rachel, and Chad Rushing, and Roy and Shane Parrish; and five great-grandchildren.

She will also be missed by many cousins, other relatives, many friends, her church family, and other loved ones.

Visitation was Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Funeral services were Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Peel Full Gospel Church with Rev. Curly Johnson and Rev. Charlie Rushing officiating.

Burial followed in Peel Cemetery with pallbearers being Chad Rushing, Jimmy Villines, David Stayton, Christopher Duffell, Jason Vanderwaal, Roger Scott, and Richard Carpenter.
