Velia Castro age 80 of Harrison, AR passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, MO.

The daughter of Hector and Henrietta (Vasquez) Pulido was born December 10, 1942 in West Covina, California.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ramon Castro; brother, Hector Pulido; sister, Alice Ramos; and her aunt Alicia Santellan.

Velia lived in Harrison for 32 years. She was a member of the Mary Mother of God Catholic Church.  She enjoyed watching TV, eating snacks, and gardening.  She also enjoyed having parties, cooking for large crowds, and Facebook Live.

Velia is survived by her daughter, Michelle Aldrete and her husband Antonio of Harrison; her grandchildren, Amy Aldrete, Belin Juantos and her husband Adan, Adrian Aldrete and his wife Keyla, and Nancy Echols all of Harrison; her great-grandchildren, Alessandra and Juliet Juantos, and Easton, Lillian, and Emilia Griffith.

On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church.  The celebrant will be Father Ben Riley.  The Mass will be preceded by a rosary at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at York Cemetery in Bergman.
