Obituary

Veda R. Jenkins, age 89 of Yellville, passed away at the Harrison Hospice House on Wednesday, Januay 23, 2008. The daughter of James Cameron and Mary D. (Carnahan) Edmonson, was born Sept. 30,1918 at Bergman, Arkansas.

After being raised here, she moved to California and then returned to this area 60 years ago. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. Veda was an active member of the Monarch Extension Homemakers Club and loved to make quilts, which she entered in several fairs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clay, Raymond and Luther Edmonson.

Surviving are her two daughters, Sandra Sue Croswhite, of Yellville and Brenda Joy Jenkins, of the home; one brother, Roger Edmonson, of Yellville; one sister, Audrey Ballard, of Harrison; four grandchildren, Kevin Lee Croswhite, Keisha Sue Keyes, Jonna Ruth Dunlap, and Carson Shayne Croswhite; seven great grandchildren, Shonna, Kendra, and Deirdre Keyes, and Adam Dunlap, Shayna, Kyle, and Jeremy Croswhite.

Visitation was Saturday, January 26, 2008, the service followed at Coffman Funeral Home with Craig Rogers officiating. Burial was in Keesee Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jim McCracken, James Kirk McCracken, Chuck Jenkins, Bill McQuary, Jerry Parsley, and Bill Burleson; Honorary pallbearers were J. T. McCracken,Don Gaines, Jim Keyes, and Kenneth McQuary.
