After a long and painful battle with cancer, Troy G. Cash, age 88 of St. Joe, passed away at his home on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007.
The son of Thomas G. and Maude (Hensley) Cash, was born January 30, 1919 at Richland, AR.
Troy was a cattle farmer and had served his country during WWII in the Army. He was a member of the Christian Church at Gilbert and attended regularly as long as his health permitted. He had served for a number of years on the Searcy County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Waldo of California and Leo of St. Joe; one sister, Dollie Taylor of Snowball.
His wife of 56 years, Ruth (Killion) Cash survives him along with two daughters, Bernita Cash and Bonnie Jones and her husband, Jerry all of Harrison; two grandchildren, Jennifer Jones of Fayetteville and Aaron Jones of Russellville; three sisters, Vada Campbell and husband, George, Ada Watts of Harrison, Grace Arnold of Pine Bluff; and one brother, Woodrow Cash of Harrison.
Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 30th at Coffman Chapel. Service was Monday, Oct. 1st, at the Gilbert Christian Church with burial in Love Cemetery at St. Joe. Ben Killion and Eldon King officiated.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Joe Eddings, Charles Bing, Michael Bing, Mark Bing, Bob Wells, and Larry Beene. Honorary pallbearers were his care-givers, Grace Blythe, Flo Campbell, Linda King, Sally Sutterfield, Laura Busbee, Nina Baysinger,Bill Baker and Bill Coe.
