Thomas Clifton "Tommy" Thornton, age 72 of Jennings, Louisiana formerly of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at American Legion Hospital in Jennings, Louisiana.
The son of Earl and Modean (Cantrell) Thornton was born January 7, 1942 in Harrison.
Tommy served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, and collectibles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Howard "Hoppie" Dryer; a brother-in-law, Frank Lee; a sister-in-law, Janie Thornton; and a granddaughter, Amber Abshire.
Survivors are his children, Jesse Dryer and wife Edna of Springdale, Arkansas, David W. Dryer and wife Debbie of Texas, Liz Glllette and husband Brian of Tennessee, Aneita Ferrari and husband Loyd of Bergman, Arkansas, Kathy Falconburg of Harrison, Vickie Lege and husband Ronnie of Kaplan, Louisiana, Hope Abshire of Louisiana, and Shawnna Horn and husband Frank of St. Martinville, Louisiana; his brothers, Ross Thornton of Bergman, Arkansas, Donald Wayne Thornton and wife Rhebeeda of Caney, Kansas and Richard Thornton and wife Nancy of Alma, Arkansas; his sister, Linda Lee of Harrison; 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Visitation was Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Service was Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Arlis Thrasher officiating.
Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery with pallbearers being Scott Thornton, Frank Alan Lee, Brad Thornton, Shawn Harp, Justin Thornton, and Robert Dryer.
