Thomas William Tougaw, age 77 of Harrison, Arkansas, left this earth to go to his heavenly home Tuesday, August 19, 2008.

Born in Plainview, June 28, 1931, Mr. Tougaw had retired as Area Director with the Farmers Home Administration of the USDA. In his forty-two years as a faithful civil servant, he helped numerous individuals and communities realize improved living conditions. His greatest achievement was his dedication to his family.

He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. Early in his career, he taught school in Deer and served as superintendent of schools in Kingston and Mt. Judea.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Mike and John Patrick Tougaw; his parents, William and Mary (Elms) Tougaw; and three brothers, Harmon, Drewey and Orville Tougaw.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Bonnie (House) Tougaw; a son, Marc Tougaw of North Little Rock; a daughter, Mary Tougaw-Plummer of Rogers; a sister Evola Moran of Hot Springs; a sister-in-law, Pearl Tougaw of Havana; and eight grandchildren, Deena, Kayla, David, and Kanon Tougaw of Harrison, Alan and Ashley Tougaw of North Little Rock, and Nicole and Matthew Tougaw-Plummer of Rogers.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 30th at Eagle Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie Villines and Bro. Tommy Turner officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Eagle Heights Baptist Church in memory of Tom and Mike Tougaw.
