Terry R. Eddings, age 64 of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Harrison.
The son of George "Junior" and Hazel (Martin) Eddings was born on March 17, 1950 in Modesto California.
Terry married his wife, Kathryn Tennison, on May 17, 1974 and together they pastored at Union Road Assembly of God in Harrison for the last 30 years. He was a proud member of the 1968 basketball state champion Pyatt Pirates. Terry served in the United States Navy as a radioman from 1969 to 1971. He was an ordained Assembly of God pastor, having also pastored at First Assembly of God in Biscoe, Arkansas, Twin Assembly of God in Palestine, Arkansas and Hites Chapel Assembly of God in Parkin, Arkansas. He traveled 2 years full time as an evangelist, took 2 missionary trips to Mexico, was the former chaplain for the American Legion in Harrison, and was captain of security at the Henley Federal Courthouse. Terry was also an accomplished writer and published author.
He was preceded in death by his father; two nephews, Todd and Aaron Swartz; one sister-in-law, Shelia Tennison Christian; and his father-in-law, Troy Tennison.
Terry is survived by his mother, Hazel Eddings of Harrison; his wife, Kathryn of the home; one son, Casey Eddings of Fairfax, Virginia; one sister, Debra Barron and husband John of Omaha, Arkansas; his mother-in-law, Alice Tennison Chapman of Harrison; 2 brothers-in-law, Roy Tennison and wife Nancy of Forsyth, Missouri and Cecil Christian of Alpena, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews and his entire church family at Union Road Assembly of God.
Services for Mr. Eddings were held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with John Barron, C.C. Hodges, C.L. Haston and Roy Tennison officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison. Visitation was Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Union Road Assembly of God.
Pallbearers were Randy Tennison, Scott Tennison, John Eddings, Anthony Swartz, Jonathan Davis and David Copeland. Honorary Pallbearers include members of the Union Road Assembly of God and his fellow ministry brethren.
