IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sylvia Ann
Jones-Miller
February 4, 1948 – February 23, 2021
Sylvia Ann Jones-Miller was born on February 4, 1948 to Garvin and Edna Jones in Snowball, Arkansas. She passed away on February 23, 2021 with complications from Vascular Dementia at the age of 73.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Miller; her parents, Garvin and Edna Jones and an older brother, Taylor Jones.
Sylvia worked early in life as a telephone operator, floral designer and was a talented decorator. She excelled in housekeeping and was an outstanding cook.
Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Holli Murray of Harrison and Charity Jackson of Little Rock; a grandson, Kane Jackson and great granddaughters, Lilliana and Audriana Jackson. She is also survived by her siblings, Ancil (Laverne) Jones, Joe (Pat) Jones, Brenda (Bill) Gilbert, Gail (David) Funderburk and her lifelong friends, Susie Horton and Neva Laub.
Sylvia loved the outdoors and anything to do with nature – trees, rocks, mountains and water. She saw beauty in the most unusual things – rocks with holes or rocks that spelled LOVE or JOY; unique pieces of driftwood and found antique items. She found joy in the simple things in life.
Sylvia loved the Lord and was active in her church and loved to share her faith. She fiercely loved her daughters, grandson, parents, grandparents and siblings. Her great granddaughters were the joy of her life and she loved to brag on them.
Sylvia was beautiful, elegant, poised, smart and organized. She taught her daughters to be strong and independent. She could sew, cook, hang wallpaper, back a trailer, drive a boat, filet a fish and create art from rocks and driftwood. She was a fabulous housekeeper and could take nothing and make it look good. Her hot rolls and cinnamon rolls were legendary.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 26 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
