Susan Pauline Smith, of Capps, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at NARMC.

She was born in Harrison, Arkansas on February 18, 1951 to parents, AJ Rains and Celestia June (Wilhelm) Martin.

Susan enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping.  She was an avid rock hunter and enjoyed collecting many things.  She loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She had a big heart and loved unconditionally.  Susan was known to take in anyone who needed love or a helping hand, including animals.  She was a beloved "Nan" to many and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Smith; her parents, AJ Rains and Celestia June and Vernon "Pops" Martin; a son, Jason Todd Dickey; a brother, Jackie Lee Rains and a sister, Patricia Pederson.

Susan is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Matt and Cindy Dickey and Gregg and Devona Dickey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Drew and Sheri Rains and John Kent and Lisa Rains; a sister and brother-in-law, DeDe and Ronnie Harris; seven grandchildren, Drew Dickey, Kara Spurlin, Miranda Richardson, Jason Dickey, Jakob Dickey, Kyla Dickey and Desiree Sinor; eight great grandchildren, Xander, Eliza, Preston, Lila, Farris, Kaleb, Payton and Kody; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will mourn her passing.

Graveside service will be at 10 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Denning Cemetery with Carl Breger officiating.  Visitation will be private.

Pallbearers are Drew Dickey, Jakob Dickey, JT Dickey, Ronnie Harris, Drew Rains and John Kent Rains.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to causes that were dear to Susan, House of Hope or Ozark Humane Society.
