Eleanor Sue York, age 87, of Jasper, Arkansas, passed away at The Springs of Harrison on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

The daughter of George and Flossie (Spradley) Brasel was born in Jasper on May 28, 1937. She was raised in Newton County and moved to Independence, Missouri as a young adult. While living in Missouri, she worked for Southwestern Bell and the City of Independence. She returned to Jasper in 1995 and spent 15 years working for Walmart until she retired in 2010. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper.

Sue loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed watching TV. She was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan.  She was very generous and loved to help others. Sue will be fondly remembered for being fun to be around, telling jokes and always having a great sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Bill York; her sons, Eddie York and Richard York; and her siblings, Georgia Lee Abell, Billy Dale Brasel, and Betty Jo Riesenecker.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ebert of Overland Park, Kansas; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, and nephews.

At her request, no services will be held. Burial will be in Jasper Cemtery at a later date.
