Sue Carol
Newton
March 3, 1934 – April 8, 2026
Sue (Dodson) Newton, age 92, of Harrison, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026 at Countryside at Rock Springs.
She was the last surviving child of Arthur and Walcie Dodson. She was born on March 3, 1934 in the small community of Cave Creek, Arkansas.
Sue was a lady of gentle spirit. Her faith is what kept her strong. She spent her life taking care of others. You could always find her in the kitchen cooking for family and friends. Sue looked forward to the days that she volunteered at the Auxiliary Thrift Store.
She was an avid golfer, able to beat most men she played with, even making a hole-in-one. Sue found great satisfaction in taking care of her lawn. Even at age 90 there wasn’t a stick or leaf out of place. Her biggest joy was being a part of the lives of her six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, where she was fondly known as “Ninnie”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Web Newton, Sr.; one son, Mark Newton; her sisters, Nelda Young and Betty Nash; and her brothers, Earl, Dill, AJ, Ben, Charles, Joe, and David Dodson.
Survivors include her son, Web Newton III (Cathi); daughters, Karin Nabors (Mike), Cindy Newton (John), and Sarah Harris (Dave); and grandchildren, Cody Newton (Maikayla), Steven Newton (Anna), Cary Nabors (Kelsey), Kim Newton, Lauren Brown (Clif) and Faith Newton.
A private family graveside service is planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Sue would love for you to get out in your yard and enjoy God’s handiwork.
