Obituary

Sue Carol Hefley Cheatham, age 83, of Mt. Judea, Arkansas passed away December 1st, 2021, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Harrison, Arkansas.

Sue was the only child of Lester Marvin and Audrey Felma Payne Hefley and was born on February 26, 1938, at Bass, Arkansas.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband William Frank Cheatham II of 54 years, son-in-law Douglas Craig Bryant, her sisters-in-law Lois Marie Cheatham and Fayma Cheatham Dickey, and her brothers-in-law, Armon Berry Cheatham and J.B. Dickey.

Sue is survived by her children, daughters, Barbara Carol Hefley, Tena Marie Bryant, and Sarah Dawn Flud, and son-in-law Robby Flud; her only son, William Frank Cheatham III (Billy) of Mt. Judea; her grandchildren, Taylor William Hefley, and his wife Emily of Western Grove, Jonathan Bailey Hefley and his wife Caitlin of Harrison, Logan Douglas and Payton Craig Bryant of Harrison, Kara Dawn, Brooklyn Nicole, and Lance Robby Flud of Mt. Judea; her nephews, James Allen Dickey of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Randall Lee Dickey of Auburn, Alabama.

She is also survived by two special girls who captured a piece of her heart from the time that they were born, Cortney Elizabeth Smith and Paige Victoria Clary.

Sue was an only child who wanted a large family, which God richly blessed her with. A woman with unwavering faith who loved God, her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was happiest when she was watching her grandchildren participate in all of their life events, and loved each one in a special way. Sue was a lifelong member of the Mt. Judea Church of Christ and was a great example to her children and grandchildren to follow.

Visitation is Thursday, December 2nd, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home at Jasper from 5-7 pm. A graveside service will be at 10 am on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at Sexton Cemetery in Mt. Judea officiated by Jon Hendrix and Mike Toland.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons and son-in-law.

Honorary Pallbearers will be The Smith Family, Dr. Tom Leslie, Dr. Jacob McClintock, and the wonderful and loving staff at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
