Steven Wayne Wickware passed away on Thursday, June 29th at the age of 67 after a short illness. Steve was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Albert & Erma (White) Wickware. On March 18, 2020, he married his childhood crush, Barbara Jean Hurlburt.
He started working at a mobile food trailer at the age of ten. Steve worked at Bullard Cotton Gin, worked in the fields, and traveled on harvest for many years. He worked at AT&T as a lineman until he retired in 2019. Steve loved tinkering with vehicles and enjoyed gardening very much. He was a prankster with a huge heart and was always willing to help a friend.
After his marriage to Barbara, they moved to Pelsor, Arkansas where they planned on spending their golden years in the mountains at the edge of Ozark National Forest.
He is the 5th of nine siblings. He had six sisters, Susie, Bernice, Edna, Minnie, Donna, and Marilyn, and three brothers, Lloyd, Tim, and Vincent. He was preceded in death by his parents and Bernice, Edna, and Tim.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, three children Angie Weiss, Steven L. Wickware, and Ronda (Will) Martinez, three step-children, Jennifer (John) Whittaker, John Rawlings, and Jason (Tonya) Rawlings.
Twelve grandchildren, Zane and Justus Staples, Cierra Wickware, Caylin, Alex and Lyla Martinez, Jordan and James Whittaker, Cameron and Jazmine Rawlings, Logan & Breanna Rawlings, and two great-grandchildren.
