Obituary

Stevie “Steve” Armer, age 67, of Alpena, Arkansas, passed away at Hospice House in Harrison on Friday, July 3, 2026.

The son of Vernon and Mary Lee (McAlister) Armer was born in Harrison on February 5, 1959. He grew up in Alpena and graduated from Alpena High School. He worked in Huntsville for Carroll Electric as a lineman and retired after 34 years.

After retirement, Steve moved to Goshen to spend time with his grandboys and help his son build a house. After a few years, Steve returned to Alpena and began one of his favorite pastimes – homesteading. He preferred the simple life without modern conveniences. He enjoyed building his own cabin, hauling water, and constructing solar panels for power. He loved vegetable gardening and tending to his chickens. Steve also enjoyed time spent riding his Harley, making several trips to Sturgis. He was an avid NASCAR Fan and went to many races around the country. He and his son loved to watch the races together or text back and forth about the race.

Steve was a hard worker. He had a gift for storytelling. He was also a jokester and always entertaining to be around. He was a loving son, dad, brother and PaPa. His grandboys were his pride and joy. Steve was a loyal friend, and he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon; and his daughter, Natasha Armer.

Steve is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven Knight and Amanda Rose Armer of Goshen, AR; his mother; Mary Armer of Harrison; two brothers, Allen Armer and Kent Armer; and two grandboys, Hudson Armer and Keaton Armer, several extended family members and many close friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Tyler Paschal officiating. Burial will follow at Auman Cemetery in Alpena.
