Stephen Marshall White, age 69, of Valley Springs, Arkansas, stepped into eternity to be with his Lord on Monday, February 20, 2012.
He was a proud father, loving husband, doting grandfather, caring business owner, great fisherman and hunter, American patriot and Best Friend to many, many people during his life here on earth.
He was owner of Ozark Timber Treating Corporation in St. Joe, Arkansas. He loved his employees and they were part of his extended family. He cared about them and their families. He was a mentor to young men, but also cherished his long time associates in business. His home and family was the heart of his life and love. By his hard work, dedication, and integrity he gave to his family, and shared with his friends his resources. His generosity and compassion for others has marked the lives of all of us that knew him. He was a man who spoke the truth, lived the truth, and loved the life he shared with his wife Judy, for 48 years.
Steve was a graduate of the greatest class of Parkview High School in Springfield, MO... the class of 1960. He excelled in basketball and track. He attended Drury College (University) in Springfield, where he played basketball. In 1968 he and his father, Bill White, bought a sawmill and treating plant in St. Joe, Arkansas. Ozark Timber was born and beautiful fences for Carnahan-White Fence Co. in Springfield, MO and other fence companies were created and manufactured. Steve made his residence in Valley Springs, AR. The Valley Springs Slo-Pitch Softball team of the 70's and 80's was his summer family.
Fishing time on Table Rock, Bull Shoals, and Captiva, Florida with Troy, Ozzie, Doug, Floyd, Tink and Judy were his treasured days. Hunting the Triangle in Texas with Don and the dogs made winter great.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Judy, of the home, his daughter, Allison Beebe and husband Glen, of Springfield, MO; his daughter Carrie Hammit and husband Stacey, of Nixa, MO; and son, William Chris White and wife Margaret, of Harrison, AR.
