Stella Mae Wells, age 88, of Valley Springs, Arkansas, passed away May 21, 2021.

She was born April 12, 1933 in Tomahawk, Arkansas, the daughter of Jim and Flonie (Baker) Yarbrough.  Stella was the second born of six children.  She was born and raised in Tomahawk, Arkansas and a graduate of St. Joe High School.  The family moved to Valley Springs in 1954, and she married "Hickory" in January 1956.  During their 59 years of marriage, they raised three children and had four grandchildren.

Stella worked at the Boone County Hospital and at the Harrison and Valley Springs post offices later becoming postmaster at Valley Springs. She treasured the lifelong friendships she made with many of her customers.  Stella was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Valley Springs and loved her church family dearly.

After retiring, she became a full-time GranGran and Nan to her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.  Her family was her world, and she cherished their weekly Sunday dinners.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth "Hickory" Wells; her parents and siblings, Ben Yarbrough, James Yarbrough and Faye Yarbrough and a sister-in-law, Ann Yarbrough.

Stella is survived by one sister, Jimmie Yarbrough; one brother, Bob Yarbrough and his wife, Julia; three children, Cay Fields (Tim), Gigi Enix (Dave) and Todd Wells; four grandchildren, Ashley Tilley, Mack Enix, Jordan Wells and Brayden Wells; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will mourn her passing.

Graveside services will be at 1 PM, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Osborne Cemetery in St. Joe with Bro. Jimmy Dale Huskey officiating.  There will be no visitation.
