Stella Mary Pierce, age 88 of Fordland, MO, found her way to Heaven from her home in Fordland, Saturday, October 13, 2007. She was born March 17, 1919 in Parma, MO, the daughter of the late Thomas Lee Tackett and Walsie May Harris Tackett. Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lawrence Pierce, five brothers, one sister, and a daughter-in-law, Dolly Pierce.
Stella was raised and married in Atkins, AR. She and Grady moved to Harrison, AR in 1950, where they owned and operated Pierce Ready Mix Concrete Company from the late 1950's until Grady's death in 1970. Stella and Grady were very active in the Order of the Easter Star in Harrison. She was employed several years by the City of Harrison Water Department after Grady's death. Stella moved from Harrison to Fordland in 2000.
Survivors are her two sons, Joe Pierce of Fordland and Ronald Pierce and his wife, Beverly, of Little Rock, AR; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Alvis Tackett, of Atkins, AR; a sister-in-law, Polly Tackett (widow of Doyle Tackett), of Atkins, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service was Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Rev. Heath Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison. Pallbearers were her family and friends.
