Shirley Ann Starkey, of Hasty, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was 78 years old.

Born on April 2, 1947, in Cave Creek, Arkansas, Shirley was the daughter of Matthew A. Tennison, Jr. and Lela (Carter) Tennison.

She graduated from Western Grove High School in 1965 and later from Vo-Tech in 1969.

Shirley worked at Claridge from 1969 until 1995 and then began her career at American Freightways (now FedEx), where she remained until her retirement in May 2013.

A devoted member of the Log Hall Community Church, Shirley lived a life of quiet faith and loving service. She found great joy in watching her grandchildren play sports, and she loved spending time working on counted cross-stitch and crochet projects. She also enjoyed solving crossword and sudoku puzzles. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Lonnie, Donnie, and Ronnie Tennison.

Survivors include her husband, Rex Starkey; three sons, Mike Dixon and wife, Teresa, Allan Dixon, and Kevin Starkey; four grandchildren, Travis (Alisha) Dixon, Ryan (Lacy)  Dixon, Ashlee (Nathan) Chisum, and Garrett (Karley) Dixon; nine great grandchildren, Tate Dixon, Skipper Dixon, Lela Chisum, Swayze Dixon, Emberly Dixon, Clay Chisum, Newt Dixon, Nevi Chisum, and Maudie Dixon; three sisters, Linda Foshee, Loretta Tennison, and Renee Kelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, October 6, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison from 5:00 to 7:00 PM

Funeral service is Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.  Brother Jim Bohannon will officiate.  Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Travis Dixon, Ryan Dixon, Tate Dixon, Garrett Dixon, Nathan Chisum, and Skipper Dixon.
