IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley Mae
Morris
October 24, 1939 – June 15, 2025
Shirley Martin Morris, age 85, of Anderson Flat, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas.
The daughter of Newton and Elsie (Wallain) Martin was born October 24, 1939 at Mt. Hersey, Arkansas. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a faithful long-time member of Ozark Life United Pentecostal Church.
Shirley spent her working years with Overman's in Harrison followed by 29 years with the Bruno-Pyatt School District as one of the "lunch ladies". She loved this job as she had a great love for children. She got to see both her grandsons start and finish their school years at Bruno-Pyatt. After her retirement, she and her husband Raymond enjoyed their time together. They went to Yellville multiple times a day to eat with their friends. They loved riding their side-by-side and enjoyed their "great" grandkids tremendously. They followed their grandkids all over for soccer, basketball, and baseball games and of course, don't forget all the birthday parties.
Shirley Martin married Raymond Morris and they were blessed with two children, Jim (Tracy) Morris and Rita (Michael) McEntire, all of Anderson Flat. They enjoyed two grandsons, Brent Morris and Clint (Tiffany) Morris; two granddaughters, Katy (Jake) Thornton and Kara Jones (Drew). Then came more fun for them, with great grandkids, Tamara (Kyle), Tia (Payton), Brody, Eli, Jesse, Kyler, Mya, Oaklee, Rayden, Rowland, Ryeland, and Raylann; and one great great grandson, Emer Bardin. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Emily Martin and Debbie Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Raymond Morris; her parents, Newton and Elsie Martin; siblings, Jiles, Darrell, Earl, Monroe, James, DeRoy, and Junior Martin, Lula Crow, Lecta Booth, Maggie Booth, Myrtle Choate, Betty Land, Opal Gladden, and Helen Burks; and a great grandson, Tate Thornton.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 19 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Friday, June 20, 2025 at Ozark Life United Pentecostal Church in Pindall on Hwy 235. Jeremy Ellis and Terry Crow will officiate. Burial will follow in Anderson Flat Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Great Grandsons, Brody, Eli, Jesse, Kyler, Rowland, Ryeland, and Rayden. Honorary pallbearers are great granddaughters, Tamara, Tia, Mya, Oaklee, Raylann; and great grandson, Emer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Anderson Flat Cemetery Fund, c/o Brenda Morris, 3482 Hwy 235, St. Joe, AR, 72675.
