Obituary

Shirley Jean LeBleu, of Omaha, passed away at her home on Friday, December 15, 2023.  She was 82 years old.

The daughter of William and Frances Cook was born on July 27, 1941 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Shirley owned and ran a bed and breakfast for years, Aunt Shirley's Sleeping Loft.  She ministered and witnessed to many through her hospitality. That loft has been called home by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will continue to be a blessing to us all because of the many prayers that she prayed in that place.  Later, Shirley was the "Cookie Lady" for Big Cedar Lodge but she went above and beyond simply delivering cookies.  She would tuck in the beds and make sure to connect with each person she met.

Shirley was a woman after God's own heart.  Jesus was and is her best friend.  Shirley was a woman with Godly character and was an amazing mother raising her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in the way they should go.  Mamaw's table was always full of food, literally and spiritually, to fill us up.  She wasn't only Mamaw to her immediate family, she was everyone's Mamaw.

You didn't have to be at Mamaw's house to know that she would be sitting up with her coffee and devotions learning about her savior each morning.  Shirley was dedicated to the Lord and she would tell anyone that the most important thing they could do is have a relationship with the Lord.  Some of her last words to her family were, "Remember that He is the light of your life, remember to have fun, but don't leave God out.  Remember that God loves you".

She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Buddy" LeBleu; her parents; cousins, Charles and Randy Cook; and one grandson, Corey LeBleu.

Survivors include three sons, Billy (Tina), Bobby, and Ronnie (Rosie) LeBleu; grandchildren, Dustin (Katie) LeBleu, Lacey (Remington) Godfrey, Candice (Michael) Edmonson, Missy (Mike) Hackley, Harlee LeBleu (Trystan Alexander), Cody LeBleu, and Chase (Hannah) LeBleu; great grandchildren, Logan and Sophi LeBleu, Kemper and Theophilus Godfrey, Beckett and Kellan Edmonson, Carter Soileau, Addyson, Brant and Baby Hackley, Tayden and Veralynn Alexander, and Augustus and Charlotte LeBleu; one brother, Jack (Linda) Cook; cousin, Barbara (Rodge) Rogers; and a great host of extended family and many friends.

Visitation is Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.

Funeral service is Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.  Mel Harness will officiate.  Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Terry LeBleu, Jack Cook, Kemper Godfrey, Carter Soileau, Chase LeBleu, and Cody LeBleu.  Honorary pallbearers include Dustin LeBleu, Michael Edmonson, Remington Godfrey, and Mike Hackley.
