Shirley Marie (Gander) Hodges, 76, formerly of Harrison, passed away at Conway Health and Rehabilitation Center on February 23, 2023 under Gentiva Hospice Care.

Shirley was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 20, 1946, to the late Homer and Eva (Carson) Gander.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Glenn "Bob" Hodges on November 9, 2022.

Shirley was also preceded in death by one sister, Shiretta Frizzell Anderson of Hot Springs; and one brother-in-law, Mike Hodges of Harrison.

Survivors include one son, Todd (Lisa) Hodges of Springfield, MO; one daughter, Ashley Hodges Hill (Jack) of Vilonia, AR; grandchildren, Squire (Katie) Hill of Searcy, AR and Siby Hill of Vilonia, AR; great grandson, Oliver Hill of Searcy, AR; sister-in-law, Pollyanna Hodges; nephew, Steve (Katherine) Hodges of Brentwood, TN; niece, Stephanie (Rob) Tanner of Green Forest, AR; and nephew, Kevin (Sandy) Anderson of Hot Springs, AR.

Shirley had many jobs throughout her life but she loved subsitute teaching the best.  Jeopardy, playing bingo, and going to the casino were a few of her favorite things. Her Christmas cookies were the best!

There will be no formal service, Shirley and Bob's wishes were to be cremated and the ashes taken to Cotter on the White River.  If anyone would like to attend this, please let the family know.
