Obituary

Sgt. "Billy" Bushnell, age 24 of Mt. Sherman, AR was killed in the line of duty, Saturday, April 21, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq.

He had enlisted in the U.S. Army almost 4 1/2 years ago and first served in Afghanistan. In November 2006, he was deployed to Iraq, where he gave his life proudly serving his country.

"Billy" was born January 27, 1983 in Harrison, AR, the son of Wesley R. and Peggy A. (Fuselier) Bushnell. He was a 2001 graduate of Jasper High School and a member of Mt. Sherman Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Evan James Bushnell, Don Gilbert, Harold Van, Walter and Gladys Fuselier, and Moise Campbell.

Surviving are his parents, Wesley and Peggy Bushnell of Mt. Sherman; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Tina and David Bates of Ardmore, OK, Amy and Jason Bates of Siloam Springs, AR, and Stephanie Bushnell of Fayetteville, AR; grandmothers, Lela Van of Westlake, LA and Mae Campbell, also of Westlake, LA; seven nieces and nephews, Shelby Miller, Andrew Bates, Brandon Bates, Tiffany Bates, Denise Bates, Elisha Bates, and Gracie Bates: and many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation was held at Mt. Sherman Assembly of God. Local funeral services were held Sunday, April 29 at the Jasper Gymnasium. Other services and committal services were held in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Billy will be buried in Indian Village Cemetery in Indian Village, Louisiana.
