Obituary
Sarah Ann (Downes) Valentine, age 87 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison.
The daughter of John Wesley and Frances Lee (Roberts) Downes was born March 11, 1924 at Bergman, Arkansas.
She was a member of Capps Road Church of Christ and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Dawson Valentine; brother, Amos Andrew Downes; sisters, Nina Wade and Stella Mae Downes; and two half brothers, Lawrence Downes and James Downes.
Survivors are her son, James G. Valentine and wife Marian of Norman, AR; a sister, Eva Faye Merchant of Laconia, N.H.; two granddaughters, Christine Marie Hale of Springfield, TN and Callie Danielle McGruder of Nashville, TN; and six great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stiltner, Austin Stiltner both of Springfield, TN, Drake Escamilla, Jose Escamilla, and Elayna Escmilla and Christian Dawson Escamilla all of Nashville, TN.
Visitation was Tuesday, January 17, 2012 with service Wednesday, January 18, 2012 both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Norman Sewell officiated.
Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery with Cowan Marshall, Bob Henderson, Ross Stewart, Donald Hefley, Jack Carrow, and Bud Walsh serving as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House, 501 E. Sherman, Harrison, Arkansas 72601.
