Sarah Virginia Quattlebaum Eslinger, 92 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at Hospice of the Hills House surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Clifton Carlisle Quattlebaum and Eula (Dial) Quattlebaum was born February 8, 1925 in Greenville, Texas. She had a rewarding career with
Page Boy Fashions in the Dallas women's clothing market as a buyer and fashion model. The last 30 years of her working career, she assisted her husband in their public accounting business. Sarah relocated with her family in 1973 from Texarkana, Texas to Harrison, Arkansas.
Sarah was a sixth generation member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, a former member of The United Daughters of the Confederacy, holding in both DAR and UDC several state offices and served on several national and state committees. She served also as Senior State Chaplain of the Arkansas Society Children of the American Revolution. She served as Regent of Harrison Colony Chapter DAR in 1974. She was a charter member of Boone County Historical and Railroad Society serving as first recording secretary and public relations chairman. Sarah served 17 years as a volunteer at the historical museum and the last surviving member of the organizing committee.
Sarah was a Christian, a serious dedicated student of the Bible, a former Sunday school teacher, and was co-founder of two Bible churches and a Christian private school. She was a member of Bellefonte Baptist Church and recently attended Zion's Light Baptist Church.
She had a very strong respect and appreciation for First Responders in all fields and especially for those who volunteered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Mary Orr, Alma Walker, Nancy Quattlebaum, and brother Clifton Quattlebaum, Jr.
Sarah is survived by sons Jesse Dial Eslinger, John Paul Eslinger and wife Karen all of Harrison. Sister, Kathleen Shelley of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Pastor John Paul Eslinger officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
