Sarah Elizabeth Childress, age 65 of Jasper, AR, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at her home.
The daughter of James Ousley and Beulah Keith (Martin) Conner, was born January 26, 1942 in Jackson, MS. She moved to Newton County appoximately 12 years ago from Gonzales, TX. She had worked as a geologist with Forest Oil Corporation.
Her father preceded her in death, along with her husband, John Cecil Childress, on August 30, 2005.
Survivors are her mother, Keith Conner of Jackson, MS; two daughters, Sandee Hughes of Huntsville, AL and Shanna Metzger of Dubois, WY; two brothers, Thomas Conner of McComb, MS and Steve Conner of Celina, OH; three sisters, Mary Isaacks of Jackson, MS; Jimmy Prouty of Pearl, MS, and Jamie Barnett of Monticello, MS; four grandchildren, Michael, Mary Beth, Keith, and Cody. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Service was Friday, May 11, 2007 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, AR with Wil Howie officiating. Burial was in Jasper Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Conner, Steve Conner, Rick Metzger, Ray Prouty, Bobby Owens, and Eric Conner.
